The Road to Pitchfest+ Quarterly Workshop Series:

Pitch Like A Pro: Techniques, Etiquette, & Owning The Room

June 20th, 2026 | 10:00 a.m.-Noon

Get Ready for PitchFest+! This is your essential prep workshop for OKMPA's Annual Meeting coming up on October 24th.

OKMPA is pleased to present Pitch Like A Pro: Techniques, Etiquette, & Owning The Room, our quarterly workshop designed to prepare you for success at our upcoming PitchFest+ Annual Meeting, where you'll have the opportunity to pitch directly to executives!

With major studio executives coming to Oklahoma for our annual PitchFest+ event on October 24th, now is the time to master your pitch!

A Great Project Get You In The Door. A Great Pitch Gets You Through It.

This workshop is designed as an interactive, high-energy conversation exploring one of the most overlooked aspects of career growth in the film industry: how you communicate your ideas, your projects, and yourself.

Whether you're pitching a feature film, introducing yourself to a potential collaborator, presenting a pitch deck, or following up after a meeting, success often comes down to more than the quality of the work. It comes down to clarity, confidence, presentation, and the ability to build trust quickly.

Bringing together voices from film, marketing, design, and entrepreneurship, this workshop examines the principles of persuasion that drive attention and decision-making across industries—and how filmmakers can apply those same principles to Pitchfest and beyond.

By the end of the session, attendees will:

  • Understand how first impressions influence opportunities
  • Learn techniques for communicating ideas with greater clarity and confidence
  • Recognize the role design and presentation play in audience perception
  • Identify common pitch etiquette mistakes and how to avoid them
  • Gain actionable strategies for improving decks, one-sheets, and verbal pitches
  • Feel more prepared to engage industry professionals at Pitchfest and beyond

The session will also feature live audience participation, including pitch exercises, material reviews, and real-time feedback.

This workshop is not about perfecting a performance. It's about learning how to communicate ideas clearly, present yourself professionally, and create opportunities through stronger connections.

Attendees will leave with practical tools they can immediately apply to Pitchfest, networking events, meetings, presentations, and future career opportunities.

    Our panelists include:

    Amy Janes, Filmmakers Ranch

    Vahid Faranzeh, Freestyle Marketing

    Kelley Gann, Freestyle Marketing

The panel will be moderated by Brent Quinones of Fivestone Entertainment.

Bring your ideas! All guests who register by June 12th will be invited to submit their own pitch decks or loglines for the panelists to actively review during the workshop!
